Callie was an accident. I didn't really want to play Deadlands, and was only over at Jason's to sulk because we weren't playing L5R. They were all ragging me to play, and finally I started flipping through the book just so that they'd stop bugging me. Character generation is very strange, where you draw cards to determine your stats. I drew a character's worth of cards out of interest, and found myself staring at one killer hand. A joker, an ace... those each gave me a d12 trait... a queen gave me a d10, and four cards between 8 and jack were handing me d8 traits. Who cared about the one 2! How could I not play with a hand like that? The joker was going to give me some sort of secret in my past that even I didn't know about, which sounded like fun. So I bit the bullet and made a character, and she was perhaps the most fun I ever had playing an undead gunslinger.
