The pair of paintings that my mother picked up for 20$ at a church rummage sale, just because she knew I'd like them so. They sat on my table for a month and a half before I got around to hanging them up, but I'm glad I finally did. Who knows how old they are—not very old. I like them regardless, with their burnished but slightly flaking gold-colored frames. I was quite touched that she picked them out for me, and glad that they fit so well in here. |

This is my desk, and this is my desk on crack. And I'm not joking in terms of linear order, either. My desk only looks clean, as it does on the right, when I get hyperactive and clean it. Most of the time, it's spread with... well, let's see... what was on the desk at that point? Dictionaries, dice boxes, roleplaying books, bills, boot disks, pens, Altoids, envelopes, and some textbooks. It's a system, I tell you. This, for instance, is filed under "H," for "toy".... (by the way, people looking for the actual Real Genius quote, try my Movie Quotes pages)
I tried, I really did, to get a nice picture of this spot lit up. I swear Brandon's camera hated me with a passion, because all four shots came out like ass. Trust me that at night, with at the very least three candles going, this spot in my room was an awfully pretty fire hazard. Voni struck again this last birthday with another perfectly-for-Jen birthday present in the form of the bamboo shoot—I think not even I could kill that thing so long as I remember to add water every 3 months or so (postscript: I couldn't kill it, but Brandon could, while I was in Japan in 2003! Poo). |

And the o-so-fascinating picture of yes, that was my wall. A wall with a distinct lack of mirror mounted on it. I stole that mirror when I left my other apartment, fully intending to install it wherever I moved. Of course, it turns out that a little thing called "a drill" would advance that goal heavily, and I don't own one. So that mirror stayed propped up against the wall there from when we moved in in August of 2001 to when we moved out in June of 2003. I moved it twice, once to plug something in, and once to vacuum. Yeah. I get stuff done. |
I didn't often have the blinds in my room up (seeing as we lived on the ground floor, and there were, you know, people walking by and stuff). But when it's sunny out, I made an exception, to maximize sunbeamage on my bed. ![]() But usually this was my room. It was pretty, dark, calm, had music in the corner, and generally didn't suck. Yippee. |
